Plans and commitments for the development of renewable hydrogen (RH) production share one common problem, which has not yet been addressed in the Czech Republic and is currently being addressed very limitedly from an international perspective: not all RH will be produced at the point of consumption, as the installation of electrolyzers requires space, is bound by legislation, and is ideally linked directly to often distributed or community Renewable Energy Sources (RES), which will necessitate the transportation of hydrogen by road or rail.
The goal of HDISYS is to create a modern, advanced, and efficient hydrogen transport and storage system using entirely new technology, which will be fully certified in accordance with all relevant EU directives. While current large producers of “carbon” hydrogen use their own transport with large trailers carrying heavy steel bottles at typically 200 bar pressure to their customers (mainly in industry), HDISYS will focus on distributed and community H2 sources.
The aim is to develop, produce, sell, rent, and transport advanced container storage systems, utilizing lightweight composite high-pressure bottles to transport up to 200 kg of hydrogen per container by road (3 containers per trailer), or 370 kg of hydrogen by rail at pressures up to 500 bar. The main advantages will be a significant increase in the useful load of transport vehicles, relatively easy handling, and the possibility of replacing a stationary H2 storage at the producer with an exchange of filled containers. Hydrogen will be supplied mainly for filling utility hydrogen vehicles with a filling pressure of 350 bar (freight and bus transport, handling equipment).
The high pressure of the transported hydrogen will allow direct filling of vehicles without the use of a compressor. A significant innovative element will be the combination of manual and electronically controlled gas transfer to achieve a high level of safety and automation. The project will combine the production of containers, their sale or rental, and the provision of logistics, where, thanks to remote access, the state of filling, basic parameters, and location of the container will always be monitored. Customers, producers, or consumers of hydrogen will appreciate that the containers can be exchanged and can replace stationary storage.
At Hydrogen Distribution Systems, our vision is to revolutionize the hydrogen and renewable fuel market with innovative transportation and storage solutions. Founded with a commitment to sustainability, we strive to lead the industry by example, setting new standards in environmental responsibility and efficiency.
